Dear Friends of Liberty,
The Liberty Coalition participated in a privacy conference hosted by EPIC this past week and into the weekend. It was a great time to connect with new people, see old friends and coalition partners and learn about new threats to our liberties as well as successful efforts. The one area that appears to be leading toward a succesful outcome in the battle against the national identify system called the REAL ID. This past week Maine became the firsst state to reject participation in the REAL ID system. We are very hopeful that other states will follow very soon in rejecting it as well.

The Liberty Coalition works to help organize, support, and coordinate transpartisan public policy activities related to civil liberties and basic human rights. We work in conjunction with groups of partner organizations that are interested in preserving the Bill of Rights, personal autonomy and individual privacy.
