Bob Barr: Hero of the Constitution

Transpartisan group honored to work with Bob Barr

WASHINGTON, DC – Bob Barr’s record as a champion of the American Constitution is second to none, says the transpartisan Liberty Coalition. Throughout his distinguished career, Barr has been an ardent defender of personal freedom, traditional values and the American way of life. The stalwart conservative activist will be speaking at a Liberty Coalition sponsored event addressing National Security Agency domestic surveillance on Monday, January 16th at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.

Ronald Reagan appointed Barr to serve as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia in 1986. From 1995 through 2003, Barr represented the seventh district of Georgia in the United States House of Representatives with distinction, earning an extremely high lifetime rating of 98 percent from the American Conservative Union. In the House, Rep. Barr served as Manager of the Clinton impeachment trial and fought to insure that National Airport near our nation’s capitol was named Ronald Reagan National Airport in honor of the former President. Barr has also served on the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association and been an outspoken advocate for family values and the pro-life movement.

“One of the reasons why Liberty Coalition is so pleased and honored to work with Bob Barr is because of his unimpeachable conservative credentials,” said Liberty Coalition National Director Michael Ostrolenk. “Liberty Coalition is thrilled to include Bob Barr’s wise and conservative voice in our transpartisan dialogue with members from across the political spectrum.”

Since his retirement from the House of Representatives, Barr has been a leading advocate for personal freedom and civil liberties. His work continues to draw consistent national recognition and immense respect.

“All Americans who value our Constitutional rights and freedom owe a debt of gratitude to Bob Barr,” continued Ostrolenk. “It is a real honor to have Bob Barr speak our event on NSA Domestic surveillance.”
