* The House of Death: An interview with DEA whistleblower Sandy Gonzalez

Sandalio “Sandy” Gonzalez recently retired after a 32-year career in law enforcement, 27 as an agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), at one point serving as its head of operations in South America.

Three years ago, Gonzalez’s career came to an abrupt end after he blew the whistle in a horrifying case now known as the “House of Death,” in which Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents stand accused of looking the other way while one of their drug informants participated in torturing and murdering at least a dozen people in the border town of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

* Let’s Turn This Country Around: An Interview with John W. Whitehead By Nisha N. Mohammed

Whitehead’s motto, which he proclaims in media interviews, newspaper commentaries—even on bumper stickers—is “Speak truth to power,” and he has been doing that very thing since long before he started The Rutherford Institute in 1982. Based in Charlottesville, Va., the Institute has emerged as a prominent leader in the national dialogue on civil liberties and human rights and a formidable champion of the Constitution.

* Will Senate actually investigate NSA spying on Americans?

The U.S. Senate is investigating allegations by two National Security Agency whistleblowers who have described widespread monitoring of innocuous telephone conversations by the Bush administration's clandestine program.

The reports fill in some details about how the NSA's program works in practice. The two whistleblowers, Adrienne Kinne and David Murfee Faulk, are former military linguists who worked for a secretive NSA operation they say routinely intercepted phone calls of U.S. military officers, American journalists, American aid workers, and others who were calling home from abroad.

The two ex-military employees came forward independently and spoke to ABC News and journalist Jim Bamford for his book on the NSA called The Shadow Factory
