Dear Friends of Liberty,

We are regularly approached by constitutionalist, libertarians, progressives, conservatives and liberals asking us what they can do protect and promote their liberty. In each of the next many e-updates, we will add activities that individuals and families can do including political, social and economic actions. For now, we are asking that each of you find five of your friends and family members to sign up for the LC e-update. (can be found on the Liberty Coalition homepage www.libertycoalition.net) Also, that you do outreach on our behalf to groups and organizations that each of you belong to that are at this time not Liberty Coalition partners but should be. Tell them about us and tell them that they should join the growing list of LC partner organization fighting to protect our Constitutional Republic and our liberties.

FREE SPACE: Bruce Fein on Constitutional Law

Bruce Fein, constitutional lawyer and international consultant, gives expert insight into separation of powers and the challenge to liberty that current administration policies present. He speaks on the subjects of checks and balances, and the use of presidential findings, the state secrets privilege, enemy combatant status, secret prisons and torture.

Fein argues for the appointment of judges and prosecutors who display “statesmanship and nonpartisanship” rather than allegiance to a particular office-holder. He reminds us that we should “never become complacent,” but instead remember our responsibility and ability to restrain government and promote freedom.
